The RE2PECT commercial by Jordan is an ad that appeals to many baseball fans around the United States. Derek Jeter, one of the greatest shortstops to ever play the game retired last summer after 20 seasons in the major leagues. Jeter inspired many by his respect for others not only off the field, but also when the lights are in and the game is intense. Last summer, Jeter was greeted and welcomed by many different organizations who showed their respect for number two. In the summer of 2014 during the all star game, the 90 second commercial was born. In the commercial, Jeter walks to the plate at Yankee stadium. The fans are chanting Derek Jeter. Jeter tips his helmet to the pitcher, who is from the Yankees longtime rival, the Boston Red Sox. The pitcher tips his cap at Jeter, and soon the whole stadium does the same. The ad incorporates celebrities like Tiger Woods, Carmelo Anthony, and Jay-Z . The commercial displayed both baseball fans appreciation for Jeter, as well as the use of Jordan products. Jordan brand, which is made by Nike was established in 1984.
